Power Flush in Verwood and Ringwood

What is a Power Flush and When do You Need it Done?

Power Flushing is a way of cleaning out your heating system, removing dirt, debris and sludge! It is very beneficial and has many benefits for your system, your comfort and your wallet!

It involves draining down your heating system, connecting in a Powerflush Machine, introducing a flushing chemical, to help breakdown the build up of sludge in your system, flushing through system, systematically, working on each radiator individually at a time, flushing each one for 15 minutes or so on its own. This focuses all the flow from the machine into that one radiator, for which time it’s also agitated with specialist tooling, to help free up any loose debris.

We also use a magnetic filtration device in conjunction to the Powerflush machine to further help enhance the flush of the system, capture and remove the magnetic debris that makes up the sludge.

So What is Sludge in Your System?

Sludge naturally occurs in your heating system and is made of time rust particles clumped together as well las other dirt and debris from within your system. This sludge is correctly know as magnetite, which as you may have guessed, is magnetic. Parts of your system, Made of steel will over time rust, and these small rust particles are what make up the sludge system primarily.

Magnetic filters are very effective at catching the sludge, which then are usually cleaned, or flushed out own your annual boiler service visit. Below, you can see a ‘Magna Clean’ that has captured a fair amount of sludge and it in the process of being cleaned out o nan annual boiler service.
